It is that time of year again – a hot date! Okay, the extreme skiing movie from Warren Miller is in town on its roadshow around the world. The 58th year of extreme skiing, snow boarding and as the years have gone by more and more random events.
This year there was a make shift band, a surfing legend come new found snowboarder and a comedian to keep you entertained.
So, like … one time at band camp…
A cheap and cheerful dinner out before hand at a friend, Raf’s, Italian Pizza cafe. The smart boy shares the lease with an 80’s club. He has the use of the kitchen and bar all day up until 10pm each night. He seems happy with it.
Three out of five pillows from me on the movie but five out of five pillows on the night out.

If you want a real giggle then this is a movie to watch. A predictable story line, boy meets girl, girl likes boy, boy cannot have girl until he proves himself.
This is definitely one for Mike Myers fans as it is filled with typical Myers one liners. I won’t say it is for Jessica Alba fans as she doesn’t get her kit off like in her previous movies.

I cannot believe it is that time of year again – Yea ha it is another Warren Miller movie, ‘Playground’.
Warren has produced 58 of these ski and boarding movies over the years but over all he has produced 750 different sporting movies and books – I know, that is a lot.
We did not think this years movie was as extreme as last years but it showed some fantastic footage of avalanches that the skiers had produced. And it had a lot more funnies in it. It is still worth watching if you are a ski or boarding buff.
One of the extreme skiers who has been with the movie for years has left Miller productions and they showcase his huge house up in the hills with his model girlfriend and little personal assistant – who is male.
Check out Warren Miller for other movies or books.
3/5 pillows from me on this one.

We watched Out of the Blue movie on Sunday night. It is a New Zealand film about the 13 people that David Gray killed in Aramoana in November 1990.
Not a bad movie story wise yet a bit budget on the filming and acting front. It takes a while to set the scene and build characters but stick with it as once the massacres start you will be glued.
It is worth watching if you are a Kiwi.

No it’s not me!! This movie was terrible, mum, Craig and I watched it in Ohakune, we all thought the same. The odd funny line but not really a movie to watch again. Yet, I have heard other people have enjoyed it…. hmm maybe watch it for yourself and make up your own mind.

A good Drama for the female gender out there – it is a good story about Beatrix Potter, the author of the beloved and best-selling children’s book, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”, and her struggle for love, happiness and success.
I watched it with my Auntie Vicki and cousin Monique who were down from Napier for a girls weekend in the big city. They went shopping and to a dance show etc etc

Not too boyzy most action watching females would find it OK, it does have a story line and some fantastic graphics. It is full of one liners that are quite good.
